Wetlands are the most important ecosystems for sustaining life on earth, because of all the services they provide, but they are also the most threatened ecosystems on the planet. Saving life on earth is therefore synonymous with saving these wetlands, and the World Wetlands Day celebrated every 2 February is an opportunity to remind the general public, especially young people, of the importance of these wetlands and the urgent need to protect them. With this in mind, BEDD is inviting the pupils and staff of Nassarao Technical High School who heard about Wetlands and Ramsay convention fort the first time to get involved in protecting the wetlands of Cameroon and especially those which are around their school. Attached are some images of the celebration of this day dedicated to wetlands around the world (World Wetlands Day 2024 celebration).
