Build the capacity of eco-guards and lion guards in large carnivores survey is a main component of our lions monitoring project. During the training sessions we capacitated 45 eco-guards and the 6 Lion Guards. They were trained to improve their skills on monitoring lion populations status within the Bénoué complex and the Hunting Zones through regular patrols; how theyidentify, record and manage human-carnivores conflicts with local communities. Lion guards were equipped with motobikes and smartphone with CyberTracker and Smart Software to collect data in the complex.
